When I plan a trip, it all happens digitally. I tend to keep an eye out for interesting destinations when I’m online anyway. Then, when inspiration strikes, it’s a matter of minutes before I’ve booked flights, sifted through hotel reviews and sorted my insurance at www.allianz-assistance.co.uk.

So the thought struck me – now that my life is so profoundly digitally enabled, why am I still stuck on touring the cathedrals, museums and other relics of old Europe? Shouldn’t I be making a pilgrimage to the world’s new temples of tech, instead? My first thought was, “Silicon Valley, here I come!” Then a chance conversation with a friend about Europe’s emerging tech powerhouses changed my mind.

So I’ve been digging around (online naturally) for information about Europe’s new tech hot spots – plus the local places where you just might get to hang with the innovators. Here are the top three destinations on my European tech odyssey – see you there sometime!
