Your gadget should be highly secured since today’s devices have more risk than the old ones. Today’s gadgets have been improved with many features and abilities that enable you to do anything including storing many information even the most confidential details. This is one of the reason you must protect your gadget during traveling.

Many experts said that the more popular gadget is, the much greater it risks of becoming the target of hackers. Even the popular devices like Android or iPhone which is claimed powerful, is potential target. Therefore, you must be very careful with your devices and you don’t need to feel anxious anymore since there are simple tips you can do to prevent your gadgets from becoming hacker’s target.

Update Your Device Software
It is necessary step since by updating your device software, you are updating the security level. Each latest software rolled out patches a number of security vulnerabilities. So, you should not forget to download and update the software before you go.

Apply Strong Passwords
As protection, most today’s gadgets are equipped with password capability. For strong security, you should use strong password that consist of 8 characters of numbers or letters. More characters are even better. As hint, don’t use dictionary words. You can use acronyms of special place or something special only you know about this. As further suggestion, change the password every six month or so is good for protection.

Use Wi-Fi Carefully
Use Wi-Fi only on encrypted networks and avoid unencrypted ones. Usually, such networks require an ID or password for access. These networks are commonly available at hotels or coffee shops that provide Wi-Fi services. Encrypted networks are divided into two types; WEP (Wired Equivalent Privacy) and WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access). The latter is the most secure network you can use.

If your gadget has access to a Virtual Private Network (VPN) it is strongly recommended to use it. this network offers secure access to particular organization’s network. You can as well get online behind a secure layer that guards your information.
